June 2021 Poker Run

We had a great time with a poker run on a warm day. Nick Mendoza was kind enough to come in early and give us a tour of the Kansas Firefighter’s Museum in South Broadway in Wichita. We learned some really amazing things about how they handled fires in the time of horse-drawn steam pumpers. There was a traveling display honoring the 9-11 victims that was built by a 14-year-old who is now training to be a fireman.

From there we headed to Benny’s Burgers & Shakes in Cheney where we had some great food before driving to Lake Afton for an impromptu photo shoot.

We wrapped up at Prost in Wichita to visit and see how we did with our poker hand. Dave Snodgrass had the winning hand with three Jacks and Teresa Poulseen had the second best hand. They each won a book about a little piece of Mercedes history.
